Agile consulting making sense of complexity

Digital & Agile Consulting

Agile consulting: Making digital teams more effective

Through my Digital & Agile consulting practice I help companies and team from many different fields make software in a better way:

“As a result of working with Allan our processes have improved, we are more efficient, more creative and our projects are increasing in terms of measurable output. He is highly recommended if you want to develop your programming department to achieve more.” Toby Parkins, Director, HeadForwards

I don’t care whether you call it Digital transformation, Agile change, Agile adoption, Agile transformation, Scrum, Kanban or just plain “getting better (with Agile)” it all looks very similar: making teams better and fitter for the digital age.

Agile Consulting often follows Agile development training, a Development Health Check, or sometimes consulting leads and training follows.

Consulting usually happens in one-on-one or in small group sessions, typically at the team level or by in cross-cutting functional groups.

Unlike some training companies, when you book Allan Kelly, you get Allan Kelly, you get my wealth of experience and knowledge. Bigger companies often have a bench full of trainers so you don’t know who you will actually get until late in the day. Since I created these courses I’m teaching material I know well and I’m more than happy to go off-piste and discuss how these techniques apply to your environment.

Rolling consulting allows individuals and organizations to rethink and optimise for the digital future. Agile and Digital require organizations adapt across a broad range of activities. It is here that my holistic approach and thinking can help the most.

My extensive group of associates allows me to call in specialists in particular area and skills. For example I commonly involve a technical coach to help, different technology stacks require different coaches.

Most of my work is with smaller technically focused companies, e.g. Sullivan Cuff Software Ltd, Research, Instruments, Thunderhead, Science Warehouse, and many others.

I also work with larger technology companies like ARM and Siemens, and technology departments of corporation, like Virgin Atlantic Airways, Merrill-Lynch, Biffa, Budget Group Insurance (including Compare the Market), and Fugro Intersite and other companies in the Fugro group. Some of the larger companies have had multiple runs of the same course, e.g. Fugro have had over a dozen deliveries of the Agile Foundations in the UK, Holland, Norway, Australia and the USA.
